Classroom Renovation

This age-old education principle still rings true today. In CIC, over 80% of the classrooms were in need of one form of urgent repair or another. Students study in a substandard environment where from blackboards to concrete floors.

This initiative was aimed at refurbishing and bringing up to standard the classrooms in CIC Enugu. The requirements went from some structural repair and maintenance work, to essentials like roofing and the provision of doors and windows, and also include the provision of desks, blackboards, whiteboards, and lighting in these classrooms. With the sole aim of ensuring that learning in CIC is conducted in standard classroom environments as stipulated by UNICEF, this project will invest in minting classrooms, laboratories, and other teaching infrastructure to be functional and working at all times.

A key aspect of this project is the “Use & Don’t Abuse” designed to enlighten students and teachers about the benefits of the preservation of school facilities.

The project has a target of raising Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand US Dollars ($250,000) in its first phase to bring urgent refurbishment to dilapidated classrooms, and other school facilities. This project is promoted by the CIC Enugu Lagos Alumni Association.
